AND ADULT BEGINNING CLASSES
for strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion.


Rehearsals weekly on Tuesdays at Chief Sealth International High School

Orchestras at Three Levels, and Classes for Adult Beginners!

The West Seattle Community Orchestras welcomes all musicians, beginning to advanced, young to antique. Each orchestra is open to all ages, youth through adult, with informal auditions for placement in one of the three different orchestras to suit your individual skill level. New members are welcome depending on available space.

Students participate without charge; adult registration fee is $85 for the spring session of the orchestras, January through May. Fees are due before or at the first rehearsal.

THE ORCHESTRAS:
West Seattle Debut Orchestra
: This ensemble is for those who are just getting started playing, young and old. Through Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras, the Debut Orchestra has professional players giving individual instruction and group coaching. Conducted by Rachel Nesvig. Rehearses Tuesdays 5:30 - 6:45 pm. Students participate without charge; adult registration fee is $85.
Spring rehearsals begin January 14, 2014

West Seattle Intermediate Orchestra: This ensemble is for those that may only have a few years experience or have advanced from the Debut Orchestra. This group will give you the full symphony experience, a unique opportunity in West Seattle. Through Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras, the Intermediate Orchestra has professional players giving individual instruction and group coaching. Conducted by Rob Duisberg and Anton Coleman. Rehearses Tuesdays 5:30 - 6:45 pm. Students participate without charge; adult registration fee is $85.
Spring rehearsals begin January 14, 2014

West Seattle Symphony Orchestra: Our top orchestra, playing classical, contemporary, and popular orchestral literature with conductor Kimberly Roy. Rehearses Tuesdays 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Students participate without charge; adult registration fee is $85.
Spring rehearsals begin January 21, 2014

Adult Beginning Strings Class
A 9 session introductory class for adult beginners
to get started on string orchestral instruments:
violin, viola, cello, or bass.
This class is taught by Kriszti Bunica, violinist and candidate for Masters of Arts in Teaching.
Students must bring their instrument and bow.
Spring tuition is $90 for 9 classes, 7:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesdays.

Adult Beginning Winds & Percussion Class
A 9 session introductory class for adult beginners
to get started on wind orchestral instruments:
flute, clarinet, French horn, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, and percussion.
This class is taught by Dr. Toni Reineke, WSCO founder and conductor.
Students must bring their own instruments.
Spring tuition is $90 for 9 classes, 7:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesdays.
